In this sync.com review I’ll take a look at what features they’re offering and how good they are. Sync is one of the most popular cloud storage options so let’s see if it’s as good as other say. ✅ Get Unlimited Storage For $15 ➜ 🤍 Usability Sync has a web interface, desktop and mobile app. Web interface gives you the most features, here you can manage your whole account and files. The desktop app is strictly for downloading/uploading files. The only thing you’ll be doing on the desktop is placing files inside a folder. Overall it’s not hard to use but there are some roadblocks in the way. If you’re using the web interface or mobile app you cannot preview video files or even see thumbnails of these files. That simply overcomplicates things and you have to rely on file name to find your file or just download everything. Just annoying Another thing is that download/upload speed is limited to 40mbps. Other competitors have higher limits or don’t even limit your speed. I feel like this is where sync.com falls behind mostly at least for me. Having to wait hours if not days to upload your backups is just inconvenient. That is if you actually care about the transfer speed. If you plan to store documents or similar stuff I don’t think you should be too worried about this. Features Sync.com really shines in the file sharing category. There are so many options which you can customize. It's crazy. If you’re that type of person that likes to make everything the way you want to - sync can offer that. You can set link expire dates, share with teams or specific people, customize privacy settings, make files downloadable or editable. Phone app It might not look too pretty but the functionality is alright. I especially liked the camera upload feature which is very similar to google photos or icloud if you ever used these services. Basically when you take a picture it will automatically be uploaded to your sync folder. It takes a few seconds to do that but it’s pretty reliable in my testing and I really enjoyed having this feature. File security Sync allows you to Store multiple versions of the same file. It’s convenient because you don’t just replace the file but you can actually access and download older file versions. They are not deleted. I really liked this as well. Deleted files are stored for 180 or 365 days depending on your plan. This is a long period, other cloud storage providers usually offer shorter terms. And if something terrible happens you can actually just roll back your whole account to when things were working properly. It’s really nice to know that sync.com has your back even in the most terrible situations. Encryption I don't talk about it in the video but sync is really focused on encryption. All of the files you upload get encrypted, you can lock your apps, monitor events, enable local file encryption, disable password change on unknown devices and much more. It really seems like a secure platform. SHOULD I USE SYNC? Overall it’s a great service but it’s mainly lacking in the ease-of-use department. I think it’s perfect for large teams who need to store a ton of data. Watch this entire course: 🤍 Bob Salmans explains how to use Azure AD Cloud Sync, what Azure AD Cloud Sync is, and how it works. You may be familiar with Azure AD Connect. Most organizations use Azure AD Connect to link Azure Active Directory with internal applications or another instance of Azure. It’s an old client with limitations, though, so it might be time to use a different tool. Keep in mind that Azure AD Cloud Sync is a little different than Azure AD Connect Sync. But how? Azure AD Cloud Sync is installed in an on-premise environment or the IaaS service hosting the local version of AD. Once installed, all configuration for Azure AD Cloud Sync is performed in the Azure AD portal as opposed to the local client. This offers organizations the ability to connect multiple AD forests together while making the configuration and management of all AD instances easier. One thing to note, though. If you need object sync with your Azure AD instances, you’ll need to pass on Azure AD Cloud Sync for the moment since it doesn’t support it.
