You can watch this video at 🤍 Today, I went to Dongdaemun nighg clothing market in Seoul. Dongdaemun is a landmark of Seoul, and Seoul city designated this area as a Dongdaemun Fashion Town in 2002. But this is not the only reason why lots of foreign visitors come and shop. Alongside with Kdrama and Kpop's rapid growth, lots of people's interest grew in Korean fashion style, too. So now, you can easily find lots of foreigners enjoying their shopping at Dongdaemun area. I highly recommend you guys to come and enjoy shopping at night. This is where you'll find Hera Seoul Fashion Week, the biggest design market in Seoul, and exhibition after exhibition. Top off the evening enjoying the 25,000 LED flowers. So let's go inside the building, and explore everything from the Design Lab to the Museum. The outdoor street market starts at 4 pm on Monday to Friday, during the weekend and on Korean holidays the market starts around 2 pm (times might change). Usually the street food market finishes around 11 pm. Namdaemun Market is the largest traditional market in South Korea. The best time to visit: There are parts of Namdaemun Market open 24/7, but go between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on a weekday. Dongdaemun Market or Tongdaemun is a large commercial district in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. With traditional markets and shopping centers, it is a popular shopping and tourist destination. The operating hours for retail are 10 AM to 5 AM of the next day. Dongdaemun where you can enjoy deep Seoul. This wholesale market is lined with motorbikes for delivery. The spectacle of putting a lot of luggage on a motorcycle is interesting and I never get tired of watching it. This time, we will head for '' Dakhanmari street '' and '' Dongdaemun Grilled Fish Alley'', which are located on both sides of a narrow back alley about a 5-minute walk from Exit 9 of Dongdaemun Station on Subway Lines 1 and 4. I walked. On this street, the fish is grilled on charcoal at the storefront, so the smell of grilled fish fills the air and whets the appetite. You can enjoy grilled fish set meals such as mackerel and cutlass fish at a reasonable price, so it is understandable that it has been loved by people who work at the nearby market and people who come to shop for many years. “Takkanmari” literally means one chicken. A Korean gourmet dish made by simmering a whole chicken in a pot and dipping it in a sauce made by mixing soy sauce, vinegar, chili peppers and garlic. The taste is different depending on the shop, so it's hard to choose a shop, but every Takkanmari shop is delicious and popular with foreign tourists. If you go through this street, you will come to Jongno Sinjin Market. There are many stores that sell military-style camouflage uniforms, and there are a relatively large number of gopchang (grilled offal) restaurants. It closes at 6pm, but most of the shops were closed because I went in the evening. But I enjoyed the atmosphere. There was a wholesale market for hats and other items along the Cheonggyecheon River, so I went inside for a bit, feeling like a buyer. Dongdaemun is a standard sightseeing area for Korean trips. It is a perfect city for learning about Korea. 🤍 Tteokbokki or Ddeobokki or Korean spicy rice cakes are one of the most popular dish that you can buy at nearly every snack bars or street stall around Seoul . It has a thick, blazing hot sauce and the cakes are long, white and cylinder-shaped. The most common form of Tteokbokki is usually the combination of fish cakes, boiled eggs, and scallions Odeng, or Korean fish cake, is fish paste seasoned and mixed with starch, flour, rice wine, and other spices. Odeng served with warm, tasty broth is the most popular form. It’s extremely tasty, especially when paired with mustard and ketchup. Dakkochi or grilled chicken skewers. Pieces of tender chicken marinated and glazed with a plethora of sauces before grilling. Despite having great flavor on their own, Dakkochi is still best when paired with Korea’s many kinds of spicy sauces. Tokkebi is a deep-fried hot dog covered with french fried bits. Soondae is the Korean street food version of blood sausage. It’s truly a delicacy. Some may think that the idea of eating pork blood is disgusting, but the dish is the favorite of many people. They mix it with glass noodle or sticky rice and then the sausage will be either steamed or boiled. Gimbap or Kimbap is made from cooked rice and other ingredients rolled in sheets of dried laver seaweed. The filling may also include cheese, squid, carrot, egg, tuna… with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. People often slice the roll into bite-sized pieces before serving. Some may think that Gimbap is similar to a sushi roll, but they’re very distinctive in their own ways. Rice in a sushi roll is often mixed with vinegar, while Gimbap’s rice will be mixed with sesame oil.
